Rodrigo Olivar is a multidisciplinary director focused on shining a light on multicultural narratives.
Born in CDMX and based in Brooklyn, he has a deep understanding of Hispanic culture in the U.S.
His 8+ years as Head of Video at Remezcla—the largest Latin digital publisher and lifestyle agency in the country—allowed him to explore the rich layers of multicultural storytelling, blending creativity with strategy to produce high-impact content.
With an MFA in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts (NY) and a strong background in both production and post-production, Rodrigo brings a full-spectrum understanding of the filmmaking process and pushes creative boundaries across formats.
From directing the first-ever Super Bowl commercial for a taco truck to winning the first Webby for a Latino publication, Rodrigo’s work continues to amplify culture through powerful, story-led visuals. He has worked with brands like MLB, Toyota, Pepsi, McDonald’s, and Jack Daniel’s, and artists including Bad Bunny, Pelé, Miguel, and Intocable—projects that have earned nominations and awards from the Clios, ANAs, Shortys, Webbys, and more.
Outside the brand world, he’s passionate about independent storytelling. His short film Thank You, Have a Nice Day, winner of the Max Latino Short Film Competition, is now streaming on Max..
He is currently in post-production on his debut feature documentary, We Save Us, set to release in Spring 2026.
