Hi, I’m Rodrigo. I’m a director from CDMX, based in Brooklyn, NY and I’ve spent over a decade telling stories shaped across borders.

My work explores and celebrates multicultural worlds rooted in culture, connection, and community.

I spent eight years as Head of Video at Remezcla, where I built a strong cross-cultural perspective. My work ranged from directing the first-ever Super Bowl commercial for a taco truck to leading a team that earned the first Webby Award won by a Latino publication.

I’ve collaborated with brands including MLB, Toyota, Pepsi, and Jack Daniel’s, among others, as well as artists such as Lin-Manuel Miranda, Miguel, and Intocable. Along the way, this work has been recognized by the Clios, The One Show, the Art Directors Club, the ANAs, and the Webbys.

I hold a BFA in Media Studies (Universidad Iberoamericana-CDMX) and an MFA in Computer Art (School of Visual Arts-NY). This background gives me a strong understanding of the full production process and allows me to move easily across formats.

Alongside brand work, I’m always developing original work. My latest short fiction film Thank You, Have a Nice Day screened at festivals including NYLFF, Morelia, and New Orleans, and went on to win the HBO Max Latino Short Film Competition. (Catch it on HBO Max here.)

I’m also stepping into long-form filmmaking.  I am currently in post production on my first feature documentary We Save Us, supported by  Creative Capital and Jerome Foundation.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me on the street taking photos, playing soccer, or catching a concert.

Always open to new conversations and collaborations :)
